UBC Moisture Analysis Example
THE LOAD: 40,000 lbs./load of UBC Scrap
Testing shows 8% moisture
CALCULATIONS: 40,000 lbs./load x 8% = 3200 lbs. Moisture
40,000 lbs.- 3200 lbs. = 36,800 lbs. dry UBC
1 gallon of water = 8.337 lbs.
3200 lbs. / 8.337 lbs./gal. = 383.83 gal. in the load
Note: almost (7) 55 gal. drums!
1 gal. = 128 fluid ounces
383.83 gal. x 128 = 49,130.38 fl. oz. in the load
  36,800 lbs of UBC x 33 cans/lb. = 1,214,800 cans in the load
49,130.38 fl. oz. / 1,214,800 cans = .0405 fl. oz. in or on each can
FOR COMPARISON: 1 gallon is = 16 cups = 768 teaspoons (or 128 fluid oz.)
  Then, 128 fl. oz. / 768 tsp = .1667 fl. oz. / tsp
So a 1/4 tsp. = .1667 / 4 = .0417 fl. oz.
THEREFORE: 8% moisture in the load amounts to less than 1/4 teaspoon per can!
